South African Tourism appoints Bronwen Auret as Chief Quality Assurance Officer

South African Tourism (SA Tourism) has named Bronwen Auret as its new Chief Quality Assurance Officer, in charge of the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa. Bronwen will begin her new position on July 1, 2022.

Bronwen is a seasoned business leader with executive and senior management experience in tourism, film, and advertising. Bronwen is an expert in innovative strategies, brand management, marketing operations, and digital marketing.

Mr. Mzilikazi Khumalo, Acting Chief Executive Officer of South African Tourism, expressed his excitement that a professional of Bronwen’s ability and expertise is taking on this responsibility.

“As the sector recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic, quality assurance and visitor experience have become even more important for travellers. So I am thrilled to have Bronwen at the helm of the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa and leading our efforts to ensure that visitors experience the best products that destination South Africa has to offer. I am confident that Bronwen will be successful in her new role,” says Khumalo.

As Chief Quality Assurance Officer, she would be responsible for ensuring that destination South Africa has quality assured rated establishments, encouraging capacity building and supporting the development of industry participants, and strengthening the competency and integrity of grading assessors.

“The pandemic has highlighted how important the tourism sector is for South Africa. We have an opportunity to inspire the tourism value chain and drive the prosperity of our sector through sustainable business, people and service. It is an honour to serve as the Chief Quality Assurance Officer for SA Tourism,” says Auret.
