Inaugural Experimental Engineering Masterclass Illuminates Kagiso Township Learners to the Dynamic World of Engineering, whilst instilling key practices and disciplines on career guidance, work-readiness preparation, digital literacy, mental health awareness and financial literacy.

Mrs. South Africa 2024 Semi-Finalist, Mpumi Pule who is a qualified Mechanical Engineer, Life Coach and Director of the World Education Network proudly announces the success of the inaugural Experimental Engineering Masterclass.

Held on the 9th of March 2024 at Krugersdorp, Johannesburg, South Africa, this transformative event hosted 85 learners, including Grade 10 and 11 students, TVET engineering students, and participants from the Bring Back an Africa Boy Child Foundation. The event aimed to provide insights into the engineering world, offering learners a glimpse into the real-world work experiences and career opportunities within the engineering sector.

Under the guidance of Mrs. Pule and esteemed women industry leaders like Princess Celenhle Dlamini, Ms. Makgola Makololo, Ms. Samukelisiwe Madzhie, and Ms. Mbali Motanyane, the masterclass centered around the theme “Bridging Horizons: Bringing back the Industry Expects to the townships; exposing learners to the dynamic World of Engineering.”

This event served as a unique platform for learners and TVET students from Kagiso Township to interact with industry experts, igniting their curiosity and encouraging exploration. Participants gained valuable insights into experimental engineering practices, innovation, and current industry trends.

One of the insightful remarks made by one of the students Ofentse Tsikoe was that “we are just holding books, learning theory, using our imaginations and have to figure out what some of these engineering terms mean” experimental and practical sessions are needed to empower us to make rightful career decisions and the know how’s of the sectors we are embarking on.
