adidas unveils the 2024 official Sanlam Cape Town Marathon mascot, Chase the King Cheetah. Known for its unmatched speed, agility, and powerful athleticism, the cheetah is Africa’s fastest land animal and a perfect symbol for this premier running event.
The inspiration for Chase comes from the King Cheetah, a rare and majestic variant of the species, easily recognized by the distinct three stripes running down its back—mirroring the iconic adidas stripes. With a focus on performance, endurance, and excellence, Chase embodies the spirit of both adidas and the Sanlam Cape Town Marathon.

The name “Chase” represents more than just speed – it’s about “chase” – ing dreams, goals, and personal bests. Whether it’s marathon participants striving to beat their records, or everyday athletes pushing themselves toward new heights, Chase reminds us that it’s the pursuit of these ambitions that fuels greatness.
