TikTok has released its Q3 2025 Community Guidelines Enforcement Report, which details the platform’s ongoing efforts to protect its vibrant South African community. Between July and September 2025, the platform removed more than 920,000 videos in South Africa for violating its Community Guidelines. Of the content removed, 99.5% of them were proactively removed before anyone reported them, and 96.7% removed within 24 hours of posting.
Globally, TikTok removed a total of 204 million (204,534,932) videos worldwide in this quarter, which represents about 0.7% of all content uploaded to the platform. 99.3% of this content was proactively removed before anyone reported it, while 94.8% of the flagged content was removed within 24 hours of posting. This is one of the highest-ever rates for content removed by TikTok in under 24 hours. Through our continued investment in AI moderation technologies, a record 91% of this violative content is now removed via automated technologies, ensuring consistency and speed. To protect TikTok’s integrity this quarter, the platform has removed more than 118 million fake accounts. In addition, we removed more than 22 million accounts that were suspected to be under the age of 13.
Community, Well-being and Mental health
Building on the momentum of the 2025 Digital Well-being Summit in Johannesburg, TikTok continues to champion well-being through daily actions. Here are some of the actions we took between July and September 2025:
- Mental health support: In South Africa, 98.3% of content was removed within 24 hours of posting for violating our policies on mental and behavioural health.
- Safety and civility: Almost 100,000 videos were removed for going against our hate and violence policies – taking serious action against issues like bullying and harassment to protect the dignity of every user.
- Keeping LIVE sessions safe: we interrupted 150,000 LIVE sessions for violating platform content guidelines representing 2% of LIVE streams in this time.
Time and Well-being Features: In November, we announced a new Time and Well-being space that includes more features to help people relax and build mindful digital habits. We also launched four new Well-being Missions. These are short, fun tasks designed to help our community, and teens in particular, use technology with greater purpose and confidence.
By combining advanced automated moderation technologies with the expertise of thousands of trust and safety professionals, TikTok enables faster and consistent removal of content that violates its Community Guidelines. This approach is vital in mitigating the damaging effects of misinformation, hate speech, and other violative content on the platform.
