AdvannoTech, a 100% black-owned Internet of Things (IoT) solution and platform provider, is transforming industries across South Africa through its innovative partnership with Telkom Consumer and Small Business. This collaboration has elevated AdvannoTech from enterprise development to supplier development, unlocking national market opportunities and accelerating its growth trajectory. “Becoming a solutions partner for Telkom Consumer has been transformational,” said Xolani Zuma, CEO of AdvannoTech. “Telkom’s endorsement as a trusted national brand gives our clients confidence in our technology, while their extensive market reach has opened doors to enterprise-level opportunities across South Africa.”
Dr Mmaki Jantjies, Telkom Group’s executive for innovation and transformation highlighted the significance of this collaboration and its broader impact.
“Congratulations to AdvannoTech on this remarkable milestone and their continued growth as a leader in IoT innovation,” she said.
“Our collaboration is a shining example of how collaboration between corporates and emerging tech companies can unlock opportunities, drive innovation, and create meaningful impact in South Africa. I look forward to seeing AdvannoTech continue to expand its footprint and transform industries through their cutting-edge solutions,” she added.

Founded in 2018, Advannotech specialises in areas like IoT, smart buildings, energy management, and integrated security systems for various industries.
The partnership has allowed AdvannoTech to scale its flagship product, VantageX, an advanced IoT data fusion platform that transforms real-time data into actionable insights. This platform is already driving efficiency and innovation in industries such as property, agriculture, and utilities.
Revolutionising industries with VantageX
AdvannoTech’s VantageX platform empowers businesses to optimise operations, reduce costs, and promote sustainability.
In the property sector, VantageX enables proactive maintenance by monitoring water leaks, tracking electricity consumption for smart billing, and integrating with security systems.
In agriculture, farmers benefit from smart irrigation, crop monitoring, and livestock tracking, leading to higher yields and more sustainable practices.

At the same time, municipalities and utility providers leverage VantageX to build smart infrastructure, monitor water reservoirs, and detect faults in electrical substations, improving service delivery and reducing losses.
Fuelling growth through strategic support
The partnership with Telkom Consumer has been bolstered by over R6.9 million in funding from Telkom’s accelerator programme FutureMakers, and the Absa Supplier Development Fund. This financial support has enabled AdvannoTech to:
- Expand its R&D team and integrate advanced AI and machine learning capabilities into VantageX.
- Build up IoT hardware inventory and streamline its supply chain to fulfil orders efficiently.
- Scale operations to meet growing demand from enterprise-level clients.
“The funding was a critical catalyst for our growth,” explains Zuma. “It allowed us to say yes to new opportunities with confidence and deliver innovative solutions at scale.”

AdvannoTech’s achievements have earned it numerous accolades, including the Telkom AI Innovation of the Year Award (2024). This recognition has enhanced the company’s credibility and opened doors to new partnerships and opportunities.
Participation in high-profile events such as the IEEE Global Communications Conference and the UK Tech Hub x Telkom Tech Summit Showcase has further elevated AdvannoTech’s profile, positioning it as a key player in the global IoT ecosystem.
AdvannoTech is now focused on expanding into industries such as mining and logistics, deepening its technological capabilities, and embarking on a pan-African growth journey.
“Our partnership with Telkom is central to achieving these goals,” says Zuma. “Telkom’s world-class network infrastructure, including 5G and NB-IoT, underpins our next generation of IoT solutions.
This isn’t just a transactional relationship, it’s a true partnership built on a shared vision to solve real-world problems through technology.”
