Super Tyres recently supported The Open Door Crisis Care Centre, responding to an urgent appeal for assistance by donating and fitting four new tyres to ensure the organisation’s vehicle remains roadworthy and safe.
The Open Door Crisis Care Centre is a registered, community-based organisation providing refuge and holistic support to survivors of abuse and trafficking. Its services include emergency shelter, trauma response support, legal assistance, and outreach programmes reaching more than 6,000 people annually across surrounding rural communities.
The organisation relies heavily on transport to reach victims of abuse, attend emergency call-outs, and move vulnerable individuals to safety, medical care, and legal support.
In her appeal, Director Thora Mansfield highlighted the urgency of the situation, noting that worn tyres had placed the organisation at risk of non-compliance and, more importantly, compromised its ability to respond to emergencies.
Following the appeal, Super Tyres acted without delay, coordinating support through its Pinetown branch.
“I spoke to Graham Bush at Super Tyres requesting sponsorship of tyres as we had been warned by the traffic department that we would have to replace them. Graham responded with absolute pleasure and arranged that Musa from their Pinetown branch contact us. With no delay he did and in the blink of an eye we had our new tyres. No fuss, no bother and such an amazing attitude and generosity from their team. We have another vehicle and if we need tyres going forward, they will be the first company we will go to,” said Mansfield.
Super Tyres, Managing Director Dean Horn emphasised the company’s ongoing commitment to community safety and support. “We believe mobility is dignity and safety. Super Tyres technician Musa Gcina from the Pinetown branch carried out the fitting, ensuring the vehicle was returned to full roadworthiness and ready for service.
