DJ Tira joins The Kulture, Bringing Legacy, Access And Real-Time Culture To Fans

The Kulture, South Africa’s premium, immersive entertainment platform built on music, fashion, lifestyle and storytelling, today announces the addition of Durban’s dance music pioneer, DJ Tira. Along with ongoing collaborations by culture shifters and Mzansi star talents Young Stunna and Focalistic; it marks a defining shift from content platform to cultural engine.

At its core, The Kulture is designed to collapse the distance between artists and fans, giving over 800,000 active daily users direct access to the moments, performances and personalities that shape South African culture in real time. From exclusive music drops and behind-the-scenes access, to fashion, dance and lifestyle storytelling, the platform turns spectators into participants.

“I’ve always been inspired by the streets and the people first, because that’s where real culture lives. The Kulture is taking that energy and giving it a home where fans don’t just watch, they become part of it. This is not just music, it’s our lifestyle, our movement, our story,” said DJ Tira.

His arrival deepens that proposition, expanding reach across generations, geographies and scenes, from township dance floors to global stages.

DJ Tira represents a generation that built culture from the ground up, from Durban Kwaito to the global rise of Gqom. Now, as fan behavior shifts from passive consumption to active participation, his presence bridges legacy with a new, always-on digital culture economy.

More than a hitmaker, Tira is a proven builder of ecosystems. Through Afrotainment, he created pipelines for talent, movements and sound. On The Kulture, that same influence evolves into access, giving fans entry into the creative engine behind the music, the lifestyle, and the culture itself.

His fans can expect: Exclusive studio sessions and unreleased music moments; Behind-the-scenes access to his creative process and deep dives into Gqom, Kwaito, Amapiano, and evolving SA sounds; as well as lifestyle storytelling across fashion, dance and street culture. This is not just content but proximity to culture.

Behind the platform, CSA.Global, an entertainment, brand and communications agency, is helping redefine entertainment culture in South Africa. The Kulture app, built in partnership with Upstream Systems as CSA.Global’s tech partner, enables culture to be experienced, shared and scaled in real time.

Davin Phillips, Executive Director at CSA Global explains: “DJ Tira represents legacy, influence, and cultural authority. Bringing him onto The Kulture is a defining moment, it moves us closer to building a space where culture is experienced as it happens. Tira’s influence makes him a powerful force in how we take this platform forward.”

The Kulture is exclusively available to Vodacom users at djtira.thekulture.co.za or dial *127*3#.
