Celebrate the holidays at the Checkers Easter Village

Looking for a fun-filled way to keep the kids entertained during the school holidays and get everything the “Bunny” needs for Easter? Then hop on over to the Checkers Easter Villages now open at Canal Walk Shopping Centre and Sandton City.

Bursting with chocolaty treats, hands-on fun, and egg‑citing prizes, these immersive pop-ups are designed to capture the magical spirit of the season and make Easter shopping a memorable adventure.

Visitors are welcomed into a colourful wonderland featuring a wide selection of beautifully crafted Easter eggs and sweets, freshly baked hot cross buns, and an array of toys, gifts and games to delight children and adults alike.

A highlight for the little ones is Checkers’ version of the popular Plinko game, available for play over the weekends. Every turn on the board provides a chance to win prizes – from sweet treats and exclusive merchandise to coveted golden LEGO prizes.

LEGO enthusiasts will also be able to get their hands on a curated selection of limited-edition Easter-themed sets, with a LEGO mascot making appearances over the Easter weekend to add to the excitement.

And, while the kids play, mom and dad can head over to the Krispy Kreme kiosk – complete with a full barista setup – for signature doughnuts, Milky Bar and Bar One chillers, and a good cup of coffee. Usually only sold online, Krispy Kreme’s sought-after doughnut DIY decorating kit will also be available for purchase at the kiosk: providing a fun take-home activity for families to do over the school holidays.

The Checkers Easter Villages run from 24 March to 6 April 2026 at Canal Walk in Cape Town and from 26 March to 6 April 2026 at Sandton City in Johannesburg.
