Starbucks delivers Dodo Dubai Chocolate bars for one day only: offering a match made in flavour heaven

An exciting moment has arrived for coffee and chocolate lovers in South Africa, who can now enjoy one of the world’s most talked about chocolates alongside their favorite handcrafted Starbucks beverage, as the TikTok phenomenon Dodo Dubai Chocolate arrives at select local Starbucks stores across the country for one day only.

The range has inspired over eighty thousand viral TikTok videos and hundreds of millions of views, earning global attention for its creative flavours and playful dessert culture. Brought to South Africa by The Clout Group, the activation gives guests an exclusive once off opportunity to join in on the chocolate trend. The collaboration has grown through global curiosity and social sharing, creating a memorable brand moment that aligns with the global excitement around the range.

With the limited stock we were able to secure, customers must ensure that they are in line as early as possible, to avoid missing out on the 9AM drop. Participating stores are Mall of Africa, Sandton City, Fourways Mall and Bassonia in Johannesburg; Menlyn Park in Pretoria; Gateway Theatre of Shopping and Lillies Quarter in KwaZulu-Natal; the V&A Waterfront and Canal Walk in Cape Town; Preller Square in Bloemfontein; and Ilanga Mall in Nelspruit.

The Dodo Dubai flavours include Milk Chocolate Pistachio Kunafa, Strawberry Cheesecake Fantasy and White Chocolate Cookie Butter Bliss. Customers who purchase a Grande beverage of their choice, as well as one of these limited-time chocolates, will get R10 off their beverage and Rewards members earn double stars. In addition, spot prizes and Seasonal Beverage sampling will be available on the morning of the launch.

Gareth Brough, Co-Founder of The Clout Group, says: “This is a simple and enjoyable moment for guests. Coffee goes hand in hand with this decadent dessert chocolate, and offering something special for one day gives people a fun and memorable addition to their Starbucks visit.”

He adds: “We are excited for South Africans to take part in this global curiosity and enjoy the experience in store in a way that feels personal and accessible.”

Adrian Maizey, CEO of Rand Capital Coffee (Pty) Ltd, Licensee of Starbucks South Africa, says: “Starbucks is one of the most incredible global brands and we are a small local team with the privilege of being part of it. South Africans have a rich cultural spirit and a strong sense of identity, so our work is to honour that while bringing global experiences that feel meaningful to our customers’ daily lives. Being locally relevant and globally connected guides everything we do, and Rand is very proud of what we have accomplished since 2019.”
