On a mission to bring the worlds of creativity, community and comedy together in true South African style, inDrive’s Comedy Bus took the streets of Mzansi with none other than beloved stand-up comedians, Skhumba and Mpho Pops, and a selection of the nation’s favourite creators on board.
The global people-driven mobility platform turned the streets of Johannesburg into a moving stage with a double-decker party bus filled with hilarity and joy, in an effort to connect with everyday riders in a uniquely hilarious and human way. The experience included customised sets from Skhumba and Pops, while riders enjoyed a one-of-a-kind journey through the heart of Soweto and its key landmarks.
“Skhumba and Mpho Pops perfectly embody inDrive’s spirit of authenticity, relatability and positive energy,” said Ashif Black, Country Representative at inDrive in South Africa. “Humour is one thing that brings us all together as South Africans and our love of a good laugh is known all around the world. As a ride-hailing platform designed for everyone, we love how a shared experience like this boosts a sense of community and humanity at the same time.”
Participants were invited to take part in a simple social media activation through inDrive’s Instagram and Facebook platforms. Winners not only got to experience the live comedy tour but also enjoyed a festive lunch and received exclusive gifts from inDrive.

Between the laughter, shared selfies and street-side banter, the ride turned into something bigger than a marketing campaign, as riders swapped stories with the comedians, joked with drivers and remembered what makes South Africans connect so easily with strangers.
“Humour, warmth and a shared sense of place were our drivers in the Comedy Bus, and we wanted to celebrate the joy of human connection that keeps cities moving and communities close.,” adds Black.
inDrive continues to challenge the status quo in the mobility industry through its unique peer-to-peer fare negotiation model, where riders and drivers agree on a fair price directly, without algorithms setting the terms. This approach reinforces inDrive’s broader commitment to fairness, transparency and empowerment within local communities.
Operating in more than 982 cities across 48 countries, inDrive remains one of the fastest-growing mobility platforms in the world, advocating for a more human, inclusive, and equitable future of urban transport.
