Now, Johannesburg businesswoman and philanthropist, Talitha Oosthuizen continues that legacy as a finalist in the Mrs South Africa 2025 pageant, a demonstration that chasing a crown is not about perfection, but about purpose.
What Sits Beneath the Crown
Beyond the glamour lies grit, compassion, and a deep sense of calling. Talitha’s journey is one built on courage, service, and an unshakable belief in herself.
From starting her modelling journey at the age of eight, Talitha has spent decades embodying the resilience it takes to go after a dream.
Today, she is a wife, serial entrepreneur, and philanthropist, whose life is defined by determination faith and good moral values. Having started he business career at the young age of 21, her ventures expanded into logistics, retail, and construction – industries where she not only thrives, but leads with integrity and success.
When her father and mentor passed away in 2021, Talitha stepped into his shoes to lead his company, a move that tested her strength and redefined her understanding of success. “Challenges reveal who you are,” she says. “You can’t let fear stop you. You have to believe in your purpose – and never give up.”
A Crown of Purpose: Fighting Human Trafficking
What truly sits beneath Talitha’s determination to wear a crown, is her passion for protecting the vulnerable. Through her work with Shattering Shackles, she is raising awareness about human and child trafficking – one of South Africa’s most hidden crises. Thousands of victims, many of them young women and children, are trafficked every year through deception, forced labour, and sexual exploitation.
“For me, this platform is about more than pageantry,” she explains. “It’s about shining a light on those who have no voice. By using the platform of Mrs South Africa, I can educate, empower, and inspire real change.”

Behind every confident walk on stage lies years of discipline, late nights, sacrifice, and an unshakable belief in one’s worth. Talitha’s journey is proof that pageantry is not about beauty alone, it’s about bravery, purpose, and heart.
She hopes her story will inspire women of all ages to rediscover their dreams, whether that’s a business, a cause, or a crown. “Success isn’t about status,” she reflects. “It’s about staying true to your values, serving others, and never letting age or circumstance define your dreams.”
“South Africa needs women who will rise with courage and compassion,” she says. “If my story can inspire one woman to believe that it’s never too late to dream again, then I’ve already won.”
