Ingredients – Marinade

  • ½ cup Jacobs Kronung, brewed
  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp chilli powder (optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Ingredients – Steak Rub

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
  • 2 Tbsp Jacobs Kronung (Pure Instant granules)
  • 1 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

Method

  1. Prepare the BBQ marinade by simmering all marinade ingredients in a saucepan for 10–15 minutes until slightly thickened.
  2. Mix the rub ingredients in a small bowl. Lightly oil the steaks, then coat evenly with the rub. Allow the meat to rest at room temperature for 20–30 minutes.
  3. Grill the steaks over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, brushing with the marinade in the final minute of cooking.
  4. Rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Drizzle with extra marinade.
