Ingredients – Marinade

- 2 Tbsp brown sugar

- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp chilli powder (optional)
- Salt & pepper to taste

Ingredients – Steak Rub
- 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks
- 2 Tbsp Jacobs Kronung (Pure Instant granules)
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
Method
- Prepare the BBQ marinade by simmering all marinade ingredients in a saucepan for 10–15 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Mix the rub ingredients in a small bowl. Lightly oil the steaks, then coat evenly with the rub. Allow the meat to rest at room temperature for 20–30 minutes.
- Grill the steaks over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare, brushing with the marinade in the final minute of cooking.
- Rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing. Drizzle with extra marinade.
