Survivor fans, rejoice! M-Net is cementing its status as the Home of Survivor by delivering three international seasons of Survivor this year, starting with Survivor Australia S12 from 8 April, the 47th season of Survivor USA from 9 June and powerhouse Survivor Australia: Australia vs The World – featuring Survivor SA: Island of Secrets winner Rob Bentele – from 22 June.
The 12th season of Survivor Australia – now one of the planet’s leading Survivor franchises – comes home to M-Net on 8 April, Monday-Friday at 6pm. Themed ‘Brains vs Brawn II’ and hosted by ‘Saddy’ (Survivor daddy) Jonathan LaPaglia, the series will see 24 all-new contestants stranded in Samoa, divided by intellect vs strength and battling for the prestigious ‘Sole Survivor’ title and A$500 000 (+- R5.7 million) in prize money, over 15 episodes.
The cast includes Logan Johannisen – wife of South African–born professional Australian Rules Footballer Jason Johannisen; Olympic 400m & 800m runner Morgan Mitchell and former Ambulance Australia paramedic Paulie Michael.
Heading towards a half-century of seasons, Survivor 47 is the latest instalment of America’s version of the world’s biggest reality show and comes to M-Net, Monday-Friday from 9 June at 7pm for 14 episodes. At home in the familiar but challenging terrain of the Mamanuca Islands in Fiji for the 15th consecutive season, season 47 sees 18 castaways vying for $1 million (+- R18.2 million) in prize money over 26 intense days.
All of the castaways have been announced, but notable inclusions are Rob Has A Podcast contributor Aysha Welch; 2018 Miss Delaware USA Sierra Wright; comedian and Pod Save America host Jon Lovett; WYPR radio presenter Gabe Ortis and Tennessee Titans reporter Sam Phalen, who will join across the three tribes: Gata, Lavo and Tuku.
Survivor Australia puts its best foot forward and attempts to justify its claim to be the best current version of the Survivor franchise with ‘Australia vs The World’, coming to M-Net from 22 June at 6pm. Divided into two tribes, returning Australian players take on players from international editions, including Survivor USA; Survivor New Zealand; Survivor South Africa and Finland’s Robinsonekspedisjonen.
The Australian Tribe features three-time castaway Shonee Bowtell; returning ‘Brains vs Brawn’ and ‘Heroes vs Villains’ star George Mladenov; recent Survivor: Titans vs Rebels competitor Kirby Bentley; 2020 Australian Survivor: All-Stars winner David Genat; Boost Juice founder Janine Allis; fan-favourite and former Big Brother housemate Luke and Survivor Australia S4 alumnus Sarah Tilleke.
The World tribe features three Survivor USA castaways – two-time winner Tony Vlachos; four-time player Cirie Fields and Survivor: Cook Islands winner Parvati Shallow. South Africa is represented by smooth-talking ‘Island of Secrets’ winner Rob Bentele, with Survivor New Zealand champion Lisa Stanger; fresh-from-Survivor Québec Kassandre Bastarache and 2022 Robinsonekspedisjonen runner-up Tommi Manninen rounding out the tribe.
