The festive season marks a time for celebration, especially for expectant parents who are about to welcome a new addition to the family. To help give their baby the best start in life possible, Vodacom is offering new parents the chance to win up to R25 000 as part of its V-Up Summer campaign.
Vodacom’s Baby Names initiative encourages parents to choose a name for their newborn starting with the letter V from the Victionary, a collection of names, their meanings and origins created with the help of the nation on social media.
Expectant parents who welcome their little one between 25 December 2024 and 1 January 2025 can share their chosen V name for a chance to walk away with R15 000 in cash. If they are a Vodacom customer, they will receive an additional R10 000, making a grand prize of R25 000 to assist them on their parenthood journey.
“Vodacom’s V-Up Summer is designed to brighten our customers’ festive season with an array of prizes and rewards that change lives for the better. As part of this campaign, the Baby Names competition supports this ambition, giving new parents a boost when they need it most, and adding to the celebrations at this time of year,” says Rishaad Tayob, Consumer Business Director of Vodacom South Africa.
While the arrival of a new baby is an exciting and happy occasion, it can also be overwhelming for parents, as they adjust to childcare. In addition, research suggests that parents are more stressed today than at any other time in history.
“From food and healthcare to clothing and toys, our South African economic climate has made it increasingly challenging for expecting parents to have access to the basics for their children. As a purpose-driven organisation, Vodacom wants to help empower families with resources, products and services that enable the next generation to have the best start in life possible,” adds Tayob.
To enter the Vodacom Summer V-Up Baby Names competition, new parents can WhatsApp their name and surname, date of birth and name of their newborn baby (that starts with a V), and province to 087 240 5550.
The competition closes on 1 January 2025 at midnight.
