Tennis South Africa Serves Up Sold-Out 2026 Amex TennisTown

Tennis South Africa (TSA) served up a sold-out weekend of sport, lifestyle and entertainment as Amex Tennis Town returned to Montecasino from 11–12 July 2026, bringing together thousands of South African tennis fans for the country’s ultimate Wimbledon fan experience.

The event provided TSA with a valuable platform to engage directly with tennis supporters through an on-site activation designed to increase awareness of the sport, promote TSA membership and strengthen the connection between the organisation and South Africa’s growing tennis community.

Fans were invited to interact with the TSA team, test their tennis skills and learn more about becoming part of the TSA membership community.

For TSA, these direct audience touchpoints are becoming increasingly important as the organisation works to strengthen its relationship with tennis supporters and build a more connected and engaged community around the sport.

Anthony Moruthane, General Manager of Tennis South Africa, said: “The energy we experienced throughout the weekend is exactly what we want to continue building. Tennis has an incredible ability to bring people together, and there is a significant opportunity for us to position the sport at the intersection of sport, lifestyle and entertainment, without losing sight of the development and competitive foundations of the game.

“We are extremely grateful to American Express for its continued investment, vision and commitment to growing tennis in South Africa. Amex Tennis Town demonstrates what can be achieved when a partner embraces not only the sport itself, but also the culture, community and experiences that surround it.

“We would also like to thank all our partners, event suppliers, sponsors, participating stakeholders, staff and everyone who contributed to delivering such a successful event. Most importantly, we thank every fan and family who attended and helped create the remarkable atmosphere we witnessed over the weekend.”

Following a sold-out 2026 edition, Amex Tennis Town has further cemented its position as a key event on South Africa’s tennis and lifestyle calendar, as well as an important platform supporting TSA’s ambition to introduce the sport to broader audiences.

The two-day event attracted a sold-out crowd of 4,528 ticket holders, representing a 7.3% increase from the 4,220 tickets sold during the three-day 2025 edition.

Montecasino was transformed into a vibrant celebration of tennis culture, attracting fans, families, corporate guests and lifestyle audiences for a weekend featuring live Wimbledon screenings, premium hospitality, interactive tennis experiences, kids’ zone, family activities and live music and DJs.

As the national governing body for the sport, TSA continues to explore new and innovative ways to take tennis beyond traditional competitive environments and introduce the game to wider audiences.

Tennis is no longer confined to the court.

The sport intersects with lifestyle, entertainment and culture, and through initiatives like Amex Tennis Town, Tennis South Africa is creating new ways for people to experience and connect with the game.

The sold-out event brought together passionate tennis supporters, families, young people, corporate guests and partners, reflecting the growing appeal of tennis beyond traditional competition.

Commenting on the event’s success, Tennis South Africa General Manager Anthony Moruthane said:

“A sold-out Amex Tennis Town is a strong indicator of the growing appetite for tennis experiences in South Africa. It shows that people want to engage with the sport in new and exciting ways, and that’s exactly the opportunity we’re focused on. Our goal is to build on this momentum, grow our tennis community and make the sport more visible, accessible and relevant to more South Africans.”

Following another successful edition, Amex Tennis Town has further strengthened its position on South Africa’s sporting and lifestyle calendar, reinforcing TSA’s vision of growing tennis beyond the court and building a more engaged tennis community.
