After Hours by Decorex extends the energy of Decorex Cape Town – running from 25 to 28 June at the Cape Town International Convention Centre – beyond the show floor and into the city itself.
In partnership with Santam, Lexus, and the City of Cape Town, the programme invites attendees to enjoy evenings of curated events at some of Cape Town’s hottest venues. Each destination offers a unique take on good food and good company, designing an atmosphere that keeps the ideas flowing.
The programme opens on Thursday, 25 June, at 227 Bree Street at Aperitif (@aperitifonbree). Guests can pop in for an evening of wine and charcuterie from 16:00 to 21:00 to enjoy some of the best ingredients the Western Cape has to offer by the glass and the plate.
Also on Thursday, Gozdava 1590 (@gozdava1590) at 72 Loop Street will host Travelling Through Scent, taking guests on an olfactory journey through global ingredients and the memories they hold. From 17:45 to 19:00, guests can explore how scent constructs a sense of place as powerfully as any interior. Book via [email protected].
Things shift up a gear from 18:00 onwards at Club Kloof (84 Kloof Street), where Curatorial Edge presents Club Koooooos. The line between dinner table and dance floor is sure to be blurred at this art-soaked, music-driven gathering. Just down the road at 117 Kloof Street, Our Local Kloof Street (@our_local) invites you to linger longer after the exhibition halls close on Friday, 26 June. Offering plates of linguine caponata or beef ragu paired with a carafe of wine for R200 per person from 17:30, this quirky yet cosy café is the perfect place to digest the day’s designs.
On Saturday, 27 June, Decorex attendees get complimentary entry to the Athletic Club & Social (@theathleticclublandsocial) on Buitengracht for the official Decorex After Party. The event offers an evening of Greek and Mediterranean cuisine, groovy tunes and a live jazz performance (pre-booking essential). Doors open at 19:00 and your Decorex wristband grants you free entry to Athletic Club & Social and access to exclusive cocktails.
Sunday 28 June brings us back to Bree Street, where After Hours by Decorex closes with After Soiree (@mayodotnet) at Youngblood Africa (70–72 Bree Street). This intimate, lounge-style gathering draws together voices from interiors, fashion, music and contemporary culture to create a soft landing for the end of a week spent thinking about how spaces make us feel.
