Hyundai Meets Small Businesses Where They Shop and Operate

Hyundai Automotive South Africa is strengthening its foothold in the country’s small business sector, by meeting entrepreneurs where they already operate rather than at traditional dealerships.

CEO Stanley Anderson said the initiative signals a broader shift in customer engagement.  “We are seeing strong demand from small-medium enterprises (SMEs) who need practical, cost-effective and reliable mobility.  Our partnership with Build It enables us to bring our light commercial vehicles closer to SMEs.”

One of the recent beneficiaries is Rustenburg-based entrepreneur Arthur Seabelo, who owns a concrete manufacturing business.  While buying building materials, noticed and entered a National Win-a-Car Competition that rewarded customers who spend R500 or more across Build It stores.

The Competition attracted close to 6,000 customer entries nationally and Seabelo was the eventual lucky winner of a brand-new Hyundai GRAND i10 Premium Cargo.

“I am incredibly excited to have won this Hyundai GRAND i10 Premium Cargo,” said Seabelo.  “This vehicle will help me deliver materials more efficiently, reach more clients and take on bigger projects. To me, it does not just represent transport but an important tool for the growth of my business.”

Coincidentally, Seabelo’s brand experience with Hyundai vehicles is not new, having previously owned two Hyundai ACCENT models.  “My experience with Hyundai cars has been consistently positive, reliable and hassle-free.  Their dealership staff have also been excellent.”

Hyundai Automotive South Africa’s National Corporate Sales Manager, Samantha Brits said the Hyundai GRAND i10 Cargo has performed exceptionally well in the highly-competitive light vehicle commercial space.  “The Hyundai Grand i10 Cargo is designed with the small enterprises mobility needs in mind.”

Based on the popular passenger model the Hyundai GRAND i10, the Cargo it has been converted into a compact panel van, offering over 1,200 litres and low fuel consumption of around 5.5 litres/100km.

According to the latest statistics, South Africa has an estimated 2.6 million small-medium enterprises, contributing roughly 34% to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and supporting over 11 million jobs.
