FlySafair is thrilled to announce the 10 winning schools in this year’s School Booster Competition! Now in its second year, the initiative has expanded significantly—growing from just 3 winning schools in 2024 to 10 in 2025. Each winning school will receive the same exciting prize: 10 return domestic flights to help support their educational and extracurricular activities.
The 10 winning schools are Beau Soleil Music Centre, Fig Tree Independent School, Future Nation Schools Lyndhurst, Get Ahead College, Intlonipho Primary School, Kainos Campus Christian School, Laerskool Stulting, Xinyeketi Primary School, Motlhake Primary School and Ongoye Secondary School.
Each school will now receive ten return domestic flights for their learners and accompanying staff members.
The competition ran from 28 February to 27 March 2025 and saw 690 entries from around the country. Winners were then chosen at random by a lucky draw.
“This year, we asked schools to share how flying will help them create more opportunities for success, and the response was incredible,” says Kirby Gordon, Chief Marketing Officer at FlySafair. “Among this year’s winners, schools were looking to send their learners to sporting and cultural competitions, while others wanted to share the experience of flying for the first time and being in another city.”
Beau Soleil Music Centre in the Western Cape will be using their tickets to help the Cape Town Children’s Choir travel to the 2025 INTERKULTUR African Asia Pacific Choir Games. This prestigious international event offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the young choristers to represent South Africa on a global stage, sharing their music and culture while celebrating diversity and unity through song. The flights will help ease the financial burden of travel, ensuring that every talented voice has the chance to be heard—regardless of background.
For Get Ahead College in the Eastern Cape, the school wants to use its tickets to travel to a debating tournament in Johannesburg, where its debating team will be able to compete in person rather than online. Future Nation Schools Lyndhurst in Gauteng is looking forward to giving their talented learners a chance to compete in local karate competitions, while Laerskool Stulting in the Eastern Cape hopes to attend various sporting and academic events around the country, such as SA Athletics and public speaking competitions.
Intlonipho Primary School in Gauteng believes its learners will have more opportunities to explore different careers and skills, and Kainos Campus Christian School in the Free State would like its learners to visit Cape Town’s world-renowned tourist sites like the Two Oceans Aquarium, Table Mountain and the Castle of Good Hope.
“To all our winners, we’re excited to not only share our love of flying with you, but to also share the excitement of visiting new places and enjoying new experiences in our beautiful country,” says Gordon. “There’s so much more to our world beyond the classroom, and we couldn’t be more proud to offer learners from around South Africa the chance to gain new knowledge and feel inspired by their travels.”
