DStv Compact customers get 5 brand-new channels and an extra stream from 1 April

Five new channels are coming to DStv Compact from 1 April 2025, bringing more entertainment variety to customers looking for the best live and on demand local and international entertainment.

DStv Compact customers also benefit from access to a second stream on the DStv Stream app, allowing them to stream on two devices concurrently, including smart TVs. Customers will also enjoy a 40% discount on Showmax, providing affordable access to a huge library of movies, series and other content on-demand.

Long a fan favourite for its mix of outstanding local content, global hits and thrilling live football, DStv Compact is strengthening its total channel lineup. Heading the lineup of new channels is SuperSport Action, along with Africa Magic Showcase, CBS Justice, Curiosity and History channels.

Home to Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) content such as UFC and EFC, SuperSport Action also includes international and local boxing, WWE, Adrenaline Sports as well as UCI Cycling. The channel adds to DStv Compact’s sports offering, which already includes six SuperSport and two ESPN channels.

Featuring super drama, romance, action and adventure from Nollywood, Africa Magic Showcase delivers authentic African content. With Mzansi Magic, Mzansi Wethu, Via and K-Nou already available on DStv Compact, its homegrown content slate has never been stronger.

The TV destination for compelling true-crime documentaries and series, CBS Justice delves deep into the facts to uncover the truth. Featuring original and acquired programs, the channel brings fascinating cases to viewers, presented and investigated by experts. Titles include Snapped: Killer Couples, Cold Blood, Killer Cases, Black Widow Murders and Charmed to Death.

The factually focused Curiosity Channel shares real stories about real people from around the globe that live at the intersection of culture and inspiration. Featuring true factual entertainment in one mind-expanding destination, titles include Planet Insects, Cities of Tomorrow, Myths & Monsters, Ancient Engineering, and Titans: The Rise of Wall Street.

Also coming to DStv Compact is the highly respected History Channel. The leading destination for factual series and specials that wrap historical knowledge in entertainment, its programming slate features a roster of signature series. Titles include American Pickers, Ancient Aliens, Storage Hunters, Combat Ships, Secrets in the Ice, UFOs Declassified, The unXplained, Forged in Fire and more.

Spanning kids, movies, music, news, lifestyle, sport and more, DStv Compact is already an excellent viewing experience, and the five new channels and extra concurrent stream add even more value for customers. In addition to the Compact channel updates, from 1 April, DStv Family, DStv Access, and DStv EasyView customers will also enjoy extra channels. DStv Family viewers get more laughs on Comedy Central (122) with The Neighbours, Becker, The Daily Show, and South Park; home improvement on HGTV (177) with Christina on the Coast and What’s Wrong with That House; plus kids’ favourites on Disney Channel (303) like The Wizards of Waverly Place, Phineas and Ferb, and Coop and Cami Ask the World.

DStv Access adds Zee World (166) for Bollywood drama and romance, and Nicktoons (308) with SpongeBob SquarePants, while DStv EasyView welcomes SuperSport Schools (216), showcasing South Africa’s rising sports stars.
