South Africa faces a stark reality: despite three decades of democracy, just 8 % of the country’s qualified Chartered Accountants (CAs) are Black. This imbalance poses a serious challenge to transformation, equity, and inclusive growth in the financial sector—one of the nation’s most influential industries.
In response to this crisis, the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) is convening leading voices from business, government, civil society, and academia to explore practical solutions. The upcoming In-FOR_sight Summit 2025, themed “Lead Boldly. Influence Intentionally. Impact Purposefully,” will provide a platform for setting the transformation agenda and amplifying the voices of emerging professionals.
Spotlight on Solutions and Future Leaders
From 14 to 16 October 2025 at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, stakeholders will gather to tackle issues at the heart of South Africa’s future. Key focus areas include:
● The Road to COP30 & G20 Preparedness – How South Africa can position itself on global issues such as climate finance, debt relief, and sustainable growth.
● Investing in South Africa – The Role of Business – Industry leaders debate actionable strategies for rebuilding trust and driving inclusive economic development.
● The Ethical Future of AI – Experts explore how artificial intelligence will transform the accounting profession and reshape the ethical responsibilities of business.
● Youth & Leadership – A dedicated day highlighting young professionals, featuring speed-mentoring sessions and insights from leading sports figures on resilience and leadership.
The Summit will conclude with the SAICA Awards on 16 October, celebrating the Trainee Trailblazers and the Top-35-Under-35 who embody the spirit of transformation and innovation.
A Turning Point for the Profession
“Transformation is not just a moral imperative—it’s an economic necessity,” says SAICA CEO Patricia Stock. “For South Africa to compete globally and ensure inclusive growth, we must accelerate the development of Black Chartered Accountants who will lead with integrity and vision.”
By convening diverse perspectives, SAICA aims to move beyond conversation and catalyse the partnerships, policies, and commitments needed to reshape the future of the accounting profession—and, by extension, the South African economy.
