Protecting travellers amid Mzansi’s travel surge

0

With summer holidays on the horizon, South Africa’s hospitality industry is gearing up for the influx of both international and local travellers. As visitors from Europe, the USA, China, and across Africa prepare to descend on Mzansi for the warmer peak season, transit hubs like airports and their adjoining hotels are set to experience a big surge in foot traffic.

According to Statistics South Africa, 3.5 million travellers were recorded at South African ports of entry or exit in December 2023, a 34.6% increase from the number of travellers recorded just one month earlier. While these peak travel periods bring an air of excitement, they also come with heightened safety concerns. Particularly in bustling environments like airports and hotels where the risk of illness transmission rises exponentially, a phenomenon well-documented during the Covid-19 pandemic and the SARS outbreak.

As such, the importance of safety in high-traffic environments like airport hotels has become increasingly apparent, where the constant flow of people demands stringent safety protocols to mitigate health risks, particularly in light of the pandemic’s lasting impact. With millions of international and local visitors expected, maintaining guest safety while delivering high-quality service has emerged as a top priority.

Grace Mathikge, Front Office Manager of Radisson Hotel and Convention Centre O.R. Tambo Airport, reflects on the evolving nature of hospitality in a time where safety is paramount: “Our focus is on making sure guests feel protected from the moment they arrive,” she says. “This requires a structured yet adaptable approach to crisis management, where health protocols are treated as essential, not optional.”

Radisson’s approach to managing these challenges stands as a model for the wider industry, demonstrating that guest safety does not need to come at the expense of exceptional service. Through a combination of proactive crisis management, ongoing staff training, and consistent health and safety measures, Mathikge notes that the hotel has seamlessly integrated safety into its daily operations without making it feel burdensome or intrusive for guests.

While the upcoming holiday season will see a large influx of travellers, with Gauteng alone expected to host a significant portion of the international tourists anticipated in the country this December, this emphasis on training and preparedness has allowed Radisson to stay agile during periods of high occupancy. The Airports Company of South Africa (ACSA) reported a substantial 51% of all travellers entering South Africa in December 2023 travelled through O.R. Tambo International Airport, a trend which will likely continue in 2024.

Radisson Hotel and Convention Centre at O.R. Tambo Airport has anticipated these challenges by integrating safety protocols into their operational model, ensuring that both international and domestic travellers have a safe, reliable place to stay.

Moreover, the hotel has taken a holistic view of safety, recognising that guest well-being extends beyond physical health. Whether it’s offering a quiet lounge area for early arrivals or providing seamless access to premium amenities, Radisson understands that guest satisfaction and safety are interconnected.

“It’s about understanding that each guest’s needs are different,” Mathikge explains. “We want to ensure that while we focus on their safety, we also create a welcoming and memorable experience. This human-centred approach is crucial in ensuring that safety protocols enhance, rather than detract from, the guest experience.”

For the industry at large, the lessons from Radisson’s approach are clear. Hotels, particularly those in transit-heavy areas, need to develop comprehensive safety plans that can be adopted into their everyday operations. These should not be seen as temporary or reactive measures, but rather as part of a long-term commitment to guest wellbeing. Staff training, flexibility in service offerings, and clear communication are all critical components of this strategy.

While the hospitality industry continues to recover from the effects of the pandemic, Radisson’s model of combining crisis management with exceptional guest service stands as an example of how to navigate high-risk environments. Their approach reflects broader industry trends where safety, personalisation, and guest satisfaction converge, setting a new benchmark for what effective hospitality looks like in today’s world.

Shed the constraints of the monthly close to create continuous business development

Despite being separated by almost 600 years, modern-day accountants still share a common practice with Luca Pacioli. Like the father of accounting, today’s finance teams continue to work within the confines of the monthly close, a process that can still take up to 15 days for some businesses to complete.

This delay means companies are often not getting an accurate view of their financial performance until halfway through the following month. In today’s fast-paced business environment, where real-time insights can be a real difference maker, this approach does not align with modern business needs while also consuming valuable time and resources that could be better spent on strategic initiatives rather than what is effectively a low-value proposition that doesn’t particularly register elsewhere in the business when completed correctly.

To achieve greater agility, accuracy, and foresight needed to adjust and adapt, businesses must shed the constraints of the financial close and embrace continuous accounting – where the traditional month-end close is replaced with ongoing, real-time accounting activities.

Of course, a complete transition isn’t going to happen overnight. However, by making incremental improvements to drive financial reporting latency towards zero with the help of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and automation, businesses can already start to de-emphasise the close. Breaking a cycle which, if not vicious, is not adding as much value as it should.

Evolving beyond manual processes

The monthly close exists, in part, because the traditional manual processes needed to capture the information required to present a full and accurate picture of an organisation’s financial performance take a long time (and effort) to carry out.

Take invoice processing as just one example. If vendors send customer invoices via email in a PDF or (heaven forbid) mail an invoice in the post, it causes a delay to extract information and input it into your accounting system. That’s before considering the time spent chasing customers for late invoices. Or what about that painful part of a finance team’s job when they have to chase employees to complete timesheets? It can be a frustrating task that is taking away from their ability to do more strategic work.

Automation dramatically speeds up these repetitive tasks so they can be completed in sync with business activity. And, because it no longer takes so much time to complete, there’s less need to group the work into monthly reporting periods to get it done. That’s a win for finance teams who are reportedly spending 25% of their time on the close, per our Sage customer surveys.

For example, Large Language Models (LLMs) can be used to create emails to nudge customers and employees. And AI-powered solutions can automate extracting and entering data from traditional paper or PDF invoices, speeding up the data collection process and empowering people to be more productive with humans only brought in at the review stage. Spending less time on the minutiae of the close positively impacts on a personal, human level as well. Michael A. Smith, SVP of Finance & Accounting at Operation Hope—the largest non-profit in the US focusing on financial literacy and empowerment—recently told me at Sage Transform 2024 that AI automation has given him invaluable time to spend with his two kids and be present as a father.

Greater accuracy and trust

When information can be captured closer to real-time via continuous accounting, you can move away from after-the-fact visibility and achieve a more accurate view of business performance in the moment. Of course, that is only possible when the information provided can be trusted as reliable.

Automation can reduce human errors in manual data entry that can occur during the often stressful and hectic time that is the monthly close. In fact, AI models are already achieving 100% accuracy on nearly 70% of invoices that flow through. Coupled with the real-time visibility into costs or expenses across the business, this approach allows for decision-making based on up-to-the-minute information rather than historical data. This real-time perspective offers a more accurate view of business performance at any given moment.

It is important that this continuous assurance elements work hand in hand with continuous accounting to ensure reliability. By mitigating risks associated with bad data and ensuring compliance, it fosters trust in the financial data being used for decision-making. Moreover, as businesses shift focus from manual tasks to managing relationships with vendors, they can foster more accurate and reliable supply chains, contributing to overall business performance accuracy.

Greater foresight and agility

Automation in continuous accounting not only increases accuracy but also gives businesses the gift of time. By automating tasks such as invoice processing and accruals, businesses can redirect their focus from tedious manual work to strategic initiatives that add value to the business. This shift in focus allows for more agile decision-making and fosters innovation.

Moreover, with real-time data at their fingertips, businesses gain foresight into their performance and financial health. They no longer have to wait until the end of a financial period to assess their standing. Not to mention unlocking quicker detection of issues and exceptions that previously would only be spotted after the damage is done.

More immediate access to insights allows businesses to respond quickly to changes and seize opportunities as they arise. In essence, continuous accounting enables businesses to be more proactive and less reactive, resulting in greater agility in an ever-changing business landscape.

That’s exactly what CB insights, a provider of market intelligence on private companies and investor activities, was able to do as they turned a 60-day soft close into a three-day hard close. With all that extra time – literally weeks and weeks of it – they were able to direct energy and attention to strategic areas of the business. A case in point being a reduction in their DSO (Days sales outstanding) by 10 days and an extended 13-week cash forecast.

In conclusion, the traditional ‘close’ of accounting is giving way to a new era of continuous, real-time insights, thanks to the revolutionary impact of AI. This shift is not just a change in process; it’s a transformation that promises greater accuracy, trust, foresight, and agility in managing business finances.

By moving towards eliminating the close, we are breaking free from the constraints of a term and a practice that by nature is not continuous. We are moving towards a future where real-time data reigns supreme, offering businesses the ability to make informed decisions at any given moment, rather than waiting for the end of a financial period.

It doesn’t stop at improving financial processes; it has the potential to drive new growth and development for businesses. By automating tasks and providing real-time insights, businesses can foster innovation and finance teams can rebalance priorities and their time away from the monthly close.

As we embrace this new age of continuous accounting, it is about more than changing how we handle workflows. Moving away from the close is about opening up a world where businesses can operate, grow, and succeed more effectively.

Drumstruck, the hit African music & wine tasting experience, returns to Silvermist Wine Estate for its 2nd season in Cape Town

0

Last summer, Drumstruck at Silvermist captivated both local audiences and tourists with its energetic 5-star African drum-theatre production, uniquely coupled with a wine tasting presented by Silvermist owner and winemaker, Gregory Brink Louw. Hailed as the ‘most authentic and interactive African experience in Cape Town’, Drumstruck will be launching its new season on 10 November 2023.

Drumstruck has been entertaining audiences across the globe since its humble beginnings in Johannesburg in 2002, culminating in tours in the Far East, Europe, Australia and off-Broadway in New York, where celebrity audience members included the likes of Nicole Kidman, Kevin Bacon and Rosie O’ Donnell. Their recent partnership with Dolly Parton at her theme park in Nashville had the country music star exclaiming, “I’m dumbstruck over Drumstruck.” Drumstruck producer, Warren Lieberman, explains that he brought the show back to South African soil after Covid to give locals and tourists access to the transformative and unifying magic of drumming together, while learning something about traditional African music.

Lieberman explains that the show in Cape Town is a scaled-down version of the international production, but includes the same elements of storytelling, interactivity, fun and showmanship. “We have created a show that has emerged from many years of experience and feedback from audiences of all ages and cultures,” explains Lieberman. “It blends traditional African instruments, song and dance into an infectious musical event, and people walk out of the show feeling elated and connected.”

Facilitated by some of South Africa’s top percussionists and performers, Mpho Rasenyalo, Tumelo Seleke and Zama Qambi, the show creates a sense of Africa that is undeniably genuine and heartfelt. Audiences enter a space where an extensive and rare collection of indigenous African instruments is displayed and are taken on a journey through the musical heritage of Southern Africa – from the first drum through to the newest high-tech electronic instruments. Each audience member is provided with their own djembe drum and gets to play and sing along with the show, becoming participants in the collective celebration that exemplifies African music and culture.

Drumstruck has found a perfect home and partner in the Silvermist Organic Wine estate, a magnificent venue with expansive views perched atop Constantia Nek, an easy 15 minute drive from the Cape Town city centre. Lieberman’s passion for African music is matched by Silvermist owner, Gregory Brink Louw’s passion for wine, and while it is not a common pairing – wine and drumming work harmoniously in this idyllic space to make a unique visitor experience.

If you’re looking for family-friendly entertainment, then you need look no further. Drumstruck at Silvermist offers a rare opportunity for the whole family, from the very youngest to the very oldest, to get stuck in and have some fun together. Even the wine tasting is designed for everyone – while the adults taste and learn about a range of exclusive South African wines from the area, children (and those who prefer) are offered a refreshing farm-brewed selection of iced teas to taste. There is plenty of space for kids to run around and play on the gorgeous lawns, and Silvermist offers a relaxed farmyard environment where visitors are likely to see ducks, pigs, sheep, a donkey, rabbits and dogs roaming about freely.

This season, the South African experience has been extended to include an optional braai after the show (to be pre-ordered with ticket purchases), and guests will be entertained by a world-class marimba band while they eat, drink, and take in the exquisite views. The Silvermist Rocketbar has been re-opened as a cosy African themed wine and coffee bar, which serves deli sandwiches and snacks throughout the day.

Starting on 01 November is the fabulous 1983 dance movie Flashdance starring Jennifer Beals, who plays an 18-year-old amateur dancer who performs nightly at a dancing bar, and works as a welder during the day, but whose big dream is to join the Pittsburgh ballet school.

For the adrenalin junkies, it’s time for the original Die Hard from 22 November. This 1988 action thriller stars Bruce Willis is his iconic role as John McClane, a New York City police officer who has to save his estranged wife Holly (Bonnie Bedella) and several others taken hostage by terrorists during a Christmas party at the Nakatomi Plaza in Los Angeles.

The final title is the 1987 song and dance biopic, La Bamba, which releases on 29 November, as we start the countdown to the festive season. It tells the story of the rise from nowhere of early rock ‘n roll singer Ritchie Valens, who tragically died at the age of 17 in a plane crash with Buddy Holly and The Big Bopper, and stars Lou Diamond Phillips, Esai Morales and Rosanna DeSoto.

Going into the holiday season, Ster-Kinekor’s line-up includes some all-time Christmas favourites. New partnership allows parents to keep their child’s health data from birth

0

In a game-changing development for healthcare, parents can start building a lifelong medical record for their children from birth, thanks to a partnership between personal digital health vault, Ajuda, and the National Metabolomics Platform (NMP), hosted at the Centre for Human Metabolomics at North-West University. The partnership will see a baby’s Newborn Screening results uploaded directly to a parent’s own secure digital storage vault, forming the foundation of a lifelong medical record.

What Is Newborn Screening?

Newborn Screening is a reliable screening for newborns that’s been around since the early 1960s. It’s usually performed within three days of birth. A healthcare professional pricks the baby’s heel to get a blood sample, which is sent away for analysis (in South Africa, the NMP is currently the only laboratory that does Newborn Screening for 22 conditions simultaneously). It’s quick and there’s no risk to your baby, but the benefits can be enormous.

“Ensure your child’s wellbeing isn’t left to chance. A simple and affordable test can make a big difference in your child’s life,” says Dr Ilse Du Preez, Acting Director at the Centre for Human Metabolomics/NMP. “Just like you check your newborn’s hearing and vision and keep up with vaccinations, it’s important to consider testing for genetic metabolic disorders early on. Detecting these issues early can have a lasting impact on your child’s health. The screening is simple and only requires a few drops of blood, collected from your baby’s heel by a trained professional, such as a doctor, nurse, or midwife. Take this important step for your child’s future and enjoy the peace of mind that comes with knowing.”

What Newborn Screening Tests For

Newborn Screening tests for a range of inherited, genetic or other disorders that a baby could be born with, but which have no immediate visible signs. Undetected, they can cause serious health complications for the child later in life. “These disorders, which are present at birth, can cause harmful substances to build up in the body if not managed,” explains Du Preez. “If untreated, this buildup can lead to serious mental and physical disabilities that can worsen over time.” These complications are preventable but not reversible, which is why detection in the first three days of birth is crucial. An example is congenital hypothyroidism, which can lead to permanent intellectual disability if it’s not picked up early. “When detected early, these disorders can often be treated or managed effectively, helping to ensure your child stays healthy,” says Du Preez.

“This test is recommended as it can detect treatable conditions,” adds Dr Liza Street, a paediatrician and co-founder of Ajuda. “Identifying these problems early allows for timely intervention. However, if a problem is only recognised after the child begins exhibiting symptoms, it may be too late – the damage may already be done.”

The list of conditions Newborn Screening tests for can be categorised as follows:

  • Metabolic problems: affect the body’s ability to convert food into energy, which is used to perform everyday functions, including moving, thinking and growing.
  • Hormone problems: affect chemical messengers that help control bodily functions by sending messages to your organs.
  • Other problems: Newborn Screening also tests for a range of other rare but serious medical conditions that don’t fall under the categories above.

Most Comprehensive Medical Record Ever

Your medical history is like a CV of your whole life that tells a story of your health and your healthcare. A complete narrative gives a healthcare provider all the essential information they need to offer you the best possible treatment, however when there are gaps in your “health CV,” it slows the process down, increases the chance of overlooking important details, and can potentially put you at risk. For example, a doctor might unknowingly prescribe medication you’ve had a bad reaction to in the past. Unfortunately, gaps are common – documents get lost, healthcare providers change, and people move or simply forget things.

Ajuda is a secure digital health vault that makes it possible for anyone to store their health information in one convenient place where they can get quick access to it anywhere, anytime, through their digital device. It’s simple and easy to use and means no more stressing about losing your family’s medical records or struggling to keep track of medication. Using Ajuda, parents can build a complete, unbroken medical record for their children. Through this partnership, that record can start from birth.

“The NMP communicates newborn test results to both the parents and the attending healthcare practitioner shortly after they are processed. However, the doctor present at the birth may not be the same provider who conducts the baby’s follow-up visits and parents may be overwhelmed by the emotions and change that come with having a new baby. As a result, these important test results can sometimes be overlooked as the baby navigates various healthcare providers in its early years,” says Dr Street. “For now, parents can upload the result to Ajuda. But ultimately, the goal of this partnership will be for the result to be added directly to the baby’s Ajuda vault, ensuring better communication of health information. This centralised approach helps to maintain continuity of care and keeps all relevant parties informed about the baby’s health status.”

“By partnering with a digital platform such as Ajuda, our laboratory not only streamlines newborn screening but also ensures that results and medical records are securely stored and easily accessible, empowering parents with the information they need for their child’s health journey,” says Du Preez.

Newborn Screening is just the start of a baby’s health screening journey – many screenings will follow and these results can also be captured and added to Ajuda, building a solid foundation for the child’s healthcare in future.

“That first year of a baby’s life is so active in terms of data gathering, from receiving vaccines to achieving milestones, and it’s also the time when parents are sleep-deprived and adjusting to their new normal. Probably the last thing on their minds is where they’re going to store their baby’s health records so they can find it again in two, five, or ten years’ time,” says Ajuda co-founder, Taryn Uhlmann. “Ajuda makes it easy. We’re here to hold your hand and be your digital friend so you can be empowered with a lifetime record of your family’s health.”

Demystifying TaaS: The Future of Quality Assurance in Software Development

0

In the rapidly evolving landscape of software development, effective testing has never been more crucial. The arrival of Testing-as-a-Service (TaaS) is revolutionising how organisations approach quality assurance, offering streamlined solutions that address the complexities of modern software projects. By understanding the principles behind TaaS and its myriad of benefits, businesses can make informed decisions to enhance software quality while optimising resource allocation.

The evolution of software development practices

Historically, software development followed a linear path where developers handed off their work to operations teams for deployment. This disjointed approach often resulted in communication gaps and challenges in understanding the software’s intricacies. To reduce these issues, the concept of DevOps emerged, merging development and operations to foster collaboration. However, as security concerns grew, the integration of security specialists led to the creation of DevSecOps.

As software development continues to advance, the need for specialised testing has become evident. TaaS represents a natural progression from earlier models, offering organisations access to a dedicated testing service without the burden of maintaining an in-house team. This shift allows developers to focus on creating innovative solutions while quality assurance is managed by experts.

In ins and outs of Testing-as-a-Service

TaaS is a model where an external provider manages the testing process. This arrangement offers companies immediate access to skilled testers, advanced tools, and automation capabilities, eliminating the need for a bloated in-house testing team. Organisations can partner with solution providers to either manage their entire testing function or specific tasks, tailoring the service to their unique requirements.

TaaS is characterised by key features that set it apart from traditional testing methods:

Feature Description
Cloud-based access Facilitates collaboration and flexibility, allowing teams to work together seamlessly regardless of location.
Automation Streamlines repetitive testing tasks, increasing efficiency and accuracy.
Real-time reporting Provides immediate insights into testing outcomes, enabling organisations to make informed decisions quickly.

One of the most compelling advantages of TaaS is the potential for significant cost savings. For instance, a development team in the reinsurance sector replaced four in-house testers with TaaS, reducing costs by 40% while gaining access to a wider range of expertise, including penetration testing and security assessments.

TaaS also offers remarkable scalability, allowing organisations to quickly adjust their testing resources in response to changing project demands. This flexibility is essential in today’s agile environments, where development cycles are shorter and rapid deployment is critical. TaaS also provides access to specialised knowledge and the latest technologies, ensuring high-quality testing conducted by professionals who are well-versed in industry best practices. With rapid deployment of testing services, organisations can also expedite their time to market, giving them a competitive edge in fast-paced environments.

TaaS in practice: the transformation of testing

As businesses navigate the complexities of software development, the role of rigorous testing becomes increasingly paramount. TaaS emerges as a valuable solution, enabling organisations to optimise their quality assurance processes while maintaining focus on core competencies.

In sectors ranging from retail to financial services, the ability to release high-quality software with confidence is crucial. TaaS not only enhances testing efficiency but also ensures applications are secure from the outset, protecting both organisations and their users.

Sector Example of application
Healthcare A hospital can use TaaS for security testing to ensure their patient management system is secure against cyber threats. This helps protect sensitive patient data and comply with healthcare regulations.
Finance A bank can use TaaS for performance testing of their online banking platform. This ensures the platform can handle high transaction volumes during peak times without slowing down, providing a seamless user experience.
Retail An e-commerce company can use TaaS for functional testing of their website’s shopping cart and payment systems. This ensures that customers can complete their purchases smoothly, reducing cart abandonment rates.
Telecommunications A telecom provider can use TaaS for load testing of their customer service portal. This ensures the portal can handle many simultaneous users during service outages or high-demand periods.
Automotive An automotive manufacturer can use TaaS for compatibility testing of their in-car infotainment systems. This ensures the systems work seamlessly across different car models and with various mobile devices.
Media and Entertainment A streaming service can use TaaS for usability testing of their app. This ensures the app is user-friendly and provides a good user experience across different devices, such as smart TVs, smartphones, and tablets.
Education An e-learning platform can use TaaS for regression testing to ensure that new updates to their software do not introduce bugs or negatively impact existing functionalities. This helps maintain a stable learning environment for students.

These examples illustrate how TaaS can be tailored to meet the specific needs of various industries, enhancing software quality and reliability.

As the digital landscape continues to evolve, embracing TaaS will be vital for maintaining competitiveness and achieving success in today’s market. By adopting TaaS, businesses can streamline their testing processes and focus on their core competencies, confident that their quality assurance needs are in capable hands.

Spotify Meets Users at Their Point of Need with New Flash Payment System, Celebrating Local Artists in Their Communities

0

Spotify is transforming how music lovers access their favourite tracks with the introduction of a new payment method that directly serves communities across South Africa. In partnership with Flash, a leading Payment Service Provider (PSP) in South Africa, Spotify is extending its reach to townships and urban centres, making it easier for users to subscribe to Spotify Premium where they live.

This initiative aims to raise awareness and accessibility of Spotify Premium by utilising Flash’s vast network of mobile vending machines in local “spaza” shops – the community corner shops at the heart of South Africa’s townships. This payment solution is designed for consumers who may not have access to traditional credit or debit cards, ensuring that a wider audience can enjoy the benefits of Premium.

Celebrating Artists in Their Neighbourhoods

In addition to expanding payment options, Spotify is honouring the communities it’s connecting with by celebrating local talent. As part of the rollout, Spotify is spotlighting artists featured on its top local playlist, Amapiano Grooves, by recognising them in their hometowns. These neighbourhood-focused celebrations will allow fans to engage with their favourite artists and playlists in a more personal way, fostering a deeper connection to the music that defines their communities.

belete_tuckshop

This approach not only supports users by offering more accessible payment solutions, but also highlights Spotify’s commitment to uplifting local artists, ensuring that their talent is celebrated in the places that shaped them.

Why It Matters

South Africa remains one of the most dynamic music markets in Sub-Saharan Africa, and by embracing alternative payment methods like Flash, Spotify is addressing the needs of a broader audience. With nearly half of the urban population residing in townships, this initiative is vital in reinforcing its dedication to inclusivity and as well as supporting local talent.

With plans starting at just R66 per month, users can now stream their favourite playlists ad-free and offline, while connecting with the music that resonates deeply within their own communities.

Christina on The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice reunion

0
The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice is an exciting first-of-its-kind reality show that follows the lives of affluent mothers in Durban’s vibrant Indian community.
As the first spinoff from the hit Showmax Original, The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice has sparked lively discussions among viewers, and now they can finally witness the dramatic conclusion in an epic two-part reunion special.
Hosted by renowned journalist and media personality Shahan Ramkissoon, this highly anticipated event will feature an all-star cast, including Abigail Nepaul, Asharia Parsad, Christina Devraj, Devina Kowlas, Kim Jones, Lenore Goss-Matjie, Neetasha Singh Bugwandin, and the twins, Losh and Resh Naidoo.
In anticipation of the reunion, we caught up with Christina and this is what she had to say:
What are some of the things you would like to clarify from watching the show?
There are numerous points I feel compelled to address. While I wasn’t present, many things were said about me, some quite outrageous that I believe are not appropriate for grown women to discuss at all.
Watching the show was truly shocking and, frankly, disturbing. I was disheartened to see some of these women speculating about my mental health; such comments were completely uncalled for.
Is there one person in particular you want to confront?
Absolutely, I want to address Resh. I find her behaviour towards me to be exceptionally vile. She went out of her way to gossip about my daughter. While I understand this is a show where a little shade is expected, she continued her attacks even after filming, participating in interviews and attempting to label me.
Is there anyone you feel you owe an apology to?
The only person I owe an apology to is Lenore. She has always held a special place in my heart, and I’ve apologised to her multiple times because I believe that I hurt her.
As I watched the show, I realised that Kim and I need to have an open conversation. She gossips a lot and is the root course of a lot of issues. There’s definitely room for reconciliation, but I’ve also learned some disgusting things that have left me disappointed in her behaviour and ability to stir the pot.
Though she has reached out to apologise off-screen, I’m curious to see if she will maintain that same sincerity now that the cameras are rolling.
Heading into the reunion, do you have any regrets?
No, I have no regrets. I believe that I have been authentic.
Why should viewers tune in to the reunion?
People should definitely watch the reunion because it will reveal the true nature of the dynamics among the cast. Viewers will finally get to see things as they really are and witness the cast members for who they truly are. Many have been putting on a façade, and this reunion will expose that.
