Independent creative consultancy Ideate Africa has announced a groundbreaking partnership with the Ligugu LemaSwati Royal House, signalling a major step toward redefining how African heritage is preserved, communicated, and experienced in a rapidly evolving digital world.
Rooted in the historic House of Dlamini of the Kingdom of eSwatini, the Ligugu LemaSwati Royal House is custodian to some of Africa’s most profound cultural lineages, narratives, and traditions, many of which remain underrepresented in mainstream and global media. This collaboration aims to change that.
Together, Ideate Africa and Ligugu LemaSwati Royal House aim to ensure that this legacy is preserved, not only in archives and ceremonial contexts, but in the dynamic, multimedia language of today’s global culture.
“At a time when African identity is being remixed on platforms like TikTok, YouTube, and global streaming networks, traditional institutions need new tools to share their stories with authenticity and resonance,” says Skhumbuzo Tuswa, Founder of Ideate Africa. “Our partnership with Ligugu LemaSwati RoyaL House is about ensuring that centuries-old heritage not only survives but thrives in the digital age.”
Reimagining Heritage Through Modern Storytelling
Ideate Africa, which operates at the intersection of culture, technology, social media, and commerce, is building a specialised creative practice dedicated to African heritage institutions. The partnership with the Ligugu LemaSwati Royal House is the first public milestone in this broader effort.
“Across Africa, extraordinary institutions hold knowledge systems, histories, and cultural legacies that deserve global visibility,” Tuswa adds. “This partnership allows us to explore how tradition can meet contemporary creativity while preserving our past and embracing the future.”
This initiative marks the beginning of a long-term programme to digitise and elevate African heritage narratives using forward-thinking design, technology, and content strategies. Additional announcements and project rollouts are expected throughout the year.
